Kyle H. Peters wrote Cognition as an introduction to multi-percussion setups. The title refers to the mental process of acquiring knowledge through experience, reflected in the gradual introduction of each player’s instruments. Over time, a machine-like groove develops, leading to a dense percussive texture with a catchy energy.

The piece is written for 5 intermediate percussionists and focuses heavily on rhythm, groove, and the multi-percussion setups. Perfect for ensemble concerts or competitions!
